Anton Opic

Terms of sale

The rules for buying software on antonopic.com, in plain words.

1. Who you are buying from

The software on this site — including AOProTec — is made and licensed by Anton Opic Company (Anton Opic, Elgin, Illinois, USA — antonopic@gmail.com).

Payments are processed by Stripe. For each purchase, Link, a Stripe company, acts as the seller of record: it charges your payment method, calculates and pays any sales tax or VAT, sends your receipt, and helps with questions about the transaction itself. The software and its licence are provided by Anton Opic Company under these terms.

2. What you are buying

You are buying a licence to use the software — not the software itself. One purchase activates one installation, for the period shown at the time you buy (for example, one year), or permanently if it is shown as a one-time purchase.

How you may use the software is set out in its licence agreement, which you accept when you install it. For AOProTec, that is the End User Licence Agreement shown at installation. Please read its section on what security software can and cannot do.

3. How activation works

  1. Download and install the software. Each installation creates its own licence number.
  2. Create an account on this site and add that installation by typing its licence number.
  3. Press Activate beside it and pay. That installation switches on at its next check-in — restarting the software makes it happen straight away.

4. Prices and taxes

Prices are shown in US dollars. Any sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout from your address and shown before you pay. The price on your order is the price you pay; a later price change only affects later purchases.

One price for everyone. The price you pay to renew is never higher than the price a new customer pays that day. There is no reduced first-year price and no higher renewal price. Prices may change with the cost of living: a change is announced here at least 60 days before it takes effect, never applies to time you have already paid for, and applies to new and renewing customers alike.

5. Renewals

Nothing renews automatically, and your card is never charged again unless you buy again. When a licence period ends, the installation shows as expired and you can renew it from your account. Renewing early adds the new time to the end of the time you already have, so nothing is lost. Renewing costs the same as buying new on that day — see section 4.

6. Refunds

Full refund within the product's refund period — 30 days as standard; for a game, 30 days and under 2 hours of play, whichever comes first — for any reason. The period and any play limit are shown beside the buy button before you pay. The details are in the refund policy.

7. Licence checks

The software checks in with antonopic.com from time to time to confirm its licence; exactly what it sends is listed in the privacy policy. If the server cannot be reached — because you are offline, or because the site is down — AOProTec keeps protecting you. A missed check is never treated as your fault.

8. When a licence can be switched off

The licence for an installation can be suspended or ended if its payment is refunded, reversed or found to be fraudulent, or if the software's licence agreement is broken — for example by sharing or reselling a licence. If that happens by mistake, write to antonopic@gmail.com and it will be put right.

9. No guarantee, and limits

No security product catches every threat, and none can promise to. The software is provided as described in its licence agreement, which explains what it can and cannot do, the warranty position, and the limit of liability (no more than what you paid). Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

10. Law, and your rights

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, and the courts of Kane County, Illinois. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away the protection of the consumer law of the place where you live.

11. Changes

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with its date and applies to purchases made after that date. A purchase is always governed by the terms in force when it was made.
