What this website and our software collect about you, what they never collect, and what happens to it. Written in plain words on purpose.
This site and its software are made by Anton Opic Company (Anton Opic, Elgin, Illinois, USA). Questions about anything on this page: AOProTec Support, antonopic@gmail.com.
Your account — your email address, the name you chose to show, and your password. The password is stored only in scrambled form (a one-way hash), so even we cannot read it.
Your purchases — which product, the price, the date, whether it is paid or refunded, and Stripe's reference number for the payment. No card number, ever.
Installations you add to your account — the licence number, the software version, and when it last checked in.
Sign-in records — when an account signed in and whether it worked, to catch someone guessing passwords. Your internet address itself is never stored: each record keeps only a scrambled one-way fingerprint of it, which shows whether repeated attempts came from the same place but cannot be turned back into the address. Separate records used only to slow down repeated attempts are deleted after a day.
Messages you send — anything you write to AOProTec Support, through this site or from inside the software.
Calls — if you press 📞 Call, the site keeps a call room (which licence, when it opened and ended) and the short technical notes your browser and ours swap to connect (network addresses). The notes are deleted a day after the call ends, the room after 30 days. The call itself — picture and sound — goes straight between the two computers and is never recorded or stored. Both browsers use Google's public STUN service to find each other, which sees network addresses only.
"Notify me" sign-ups — if you ask to be told when a product is available: your email address, which product, and when you signed up and confirmed. We email you only after you confirm from your inbox, only about that product (when it can be bought, and now and then how it is coming along), and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Your address is never sold or given to anyone. Unsubscribing stops the emails at once; ask us and we will delete the record entirely.
News about other software — only if you ask for it: by ticking "also send me news" when you sign up for a product (the box starts unticked), on the 📬 News page, or with the button on your account page. Having an account does not sign you up. Each way sends one email to confirm, and only that click adds your address to a separate news list for occasional emails about any antonopic.com software. Once you have bought the product you were waiting for, you come off its waiting list, and you stay on the news list only if you ticked that box. Every news email has its own one-click unsubscribe, and leaving one list never signs you up for the other.
Creators waiting list — if you ask to be told when creators can sell on antonopic.com: your email, first name if you give it, what you make, and any note you write. If you are 13 to 17, also a parent's or guardian's name and email; they are asked by email whether they agree, and a “No” deletes the whole entry. For a child under 13 nothing about the child is stored — only the parent's name and email. Nothing is signed or sold; leave the list from any email and the entry is deleted. When creators open, everyone confirmed gets that news — and a 13-to-17-year-old's parent gets it too, but only after saying Yes.
Licence check. AOProTec (and any of our programs that uses the same licence system) contacts antonopic.com over an encrypted connection and sends exactly three things: its licence number, its version, and the time. Nothing else. A game — City Racing — sends one thing more: how long it has been played in total, as a number of seconds, because a game's refund period ends after 2 hours of play (refund policy). It is shown on your account page. AOProTec never sends it. If the server cannot be reached, a paid copy of AOProTec keeps protecting you for up to 7 days on the signed receipt it keeps; after that, or on a copy never confirmed as paid, it asks to check its licence before it starts (see Help).
Community threat protection — only if you agree. It is off until you say yes: AOProTec asks you once (Yes / Not now — ask again in 7, 30 or 90 days / No, never ask again), and you can switch it on or off anytime in Cloud Threat Intelligence. Whatever you choose, you still receive the approved fingerprints from everyone else. When you have agreed and AOProTec quarantines a file, it reports that file's SHA-256 fingerprint — a one-way number calculated from the file's contents, which cannot be turned back into the file — together with the severity, a score, the name of the detection, and ten numeric measurements of the file used to improve detection (such as its size and how random its contents look). Every fingerprint is reviewed by us before it is shared with other installations.
Never sent, and not collected at all: the file's name, the folder it was in, your computer's name, your Windows user name, the file's contents, your documents, your browsing, your email or your passwords.
Optional features — online reputation lookups with API keys you supply, and alerts sent by email from an account you connect — only run if you switch them on, and send only what that feature needs.
Payments are handled by Stripe. For each purchase, Link (a Stripe company) is the seller of record: it takes your payment, works out and pays the sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. Stripe and Link receive your card or payment details and billing address directly — those never pass through this website. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy. We receive only what is needed to activate your purchase: your email, what you bought, and whether it was paid.
One kind only: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in while you use your account. It ends when you sign out or close your browser. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and no third-party scripts on this site.
Only the companies needed to run the service: Stripe / Link for payments, and our web host (HostGator, in the USA), whose servers keep standard technical logs, as every web server does. Nobody else, and nothing is sold. We would only hand information to an authority if the law required it.
Your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can ask at any time to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it — email antonopic@gmail.com and you will get a real answer.
This site and its software are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
In effect from 12 October 2026; wording updated 3 November 2026 (no change to what is collected). If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with its date.
