Before you spend months on a game or program, check that its name — and the idea — are really yours to sell. Free, and nothing you type is saved.
Type it the way you would put it on the box, for example Space Farmer. Spelling mistakes are fine — similar names are found too.
Use your own characters, art, music and sounds. Copying another game's look, characters or story — even with new code — can still be copying.
A new name is not enough on its own. If the game or program is a copy of someone else's — their characters, art, sounds, levels or code — changing the name does not make it yours. Your own ideas, made by you, are always safe to sell.
Only sell what you made, or what you have written permission to sell. When selling opens, antonopic.com will check this before anything goes on sale, to protect you, your buyers and the people who made the original.
This check is guidance to help you, not legal advice. Only a lawyer can tell you for certain whether a name is free to use.
